Here Comes the Teeth!

Rylie Madison Rylie Madison

Finally, after all of the fussing Rylie’s first tooth is starting to push through. Watch those fingers, she is not afraid to bite down! The tooth is not real visible to the eye but if you rub your finger across her gums you can feel a sharp bump. Eric and I are very excited for Rylie, yet Rylie is not as excited about this milestone. She has been grouchy the last couple of days.

Rylie still loves her baths and now loves Ally. Every time Ally comes in the room, Rylie lights up and lets out this excited burst of excitement. Ally doesn’t pay too much attention to her. She lets Rylie touch her all over.

We started painting today on Rylie’s room. The big reveal will be coming soon.

We love our new house and the new neighborhood. All of our neighbors seem very nice and do not hesitate to say hi and chat for a while. There is a nice mixture of families. Some old, some young, some with no kids, some with kids and lots with friendly fat dogs.

We Survived!

My Lips Are Sealed

The last three weeks have been a whirl wind! During this time we sold our house in Silverbrook, moved in with Eric’s parents for a couple of weeks, bought a new house, moved in and traveled to Brady to participate in Michelle’s wedding. This is the first time I have sat down at the computer with the opportunity to catch up.

Rylie loved spending time out in the country with Eric’s parents. She loved her evening porch sittings where she kept one eye on the dogs at all times. She was intrigued with their every move. Most of all she loved, loved, loved riding in the golf cart with Grandpa. There was so much to see and so many new things to take in.

Eric, Rylie and I are enjoying the new house. There is so much that needs to be done and it can be overwhelming. I took some time off of work to get us unpacked to at least function from day to day. The rest will fall into place, slowly but surely. Time is going by so fast, Rylie is six months old and I am not ready for her to grow up so fast. I try to spend the evenings taking her all in and playing with her. She changes everyday.

Eric and I traveled to Brady for Michelle’s wedding last weekend and it was so much fun. My mom and dad were so thoughtful by offering to come down to San Antonio to babysit the Munchkin so Eric and I could have some time together and enjoy a weekend of fun, food and lots of music. It was a beautiful wedding and the band at the reception was awesome!

I cannot express how grateful I am for the friends and family that are part of our lives. We could not have survived the moves without them. I am truly blessed.

Bath Time! Rylie 6 months old Super Star! Peek a Boo, I See You

This Will Be Interesting

Eric and I finally decided to put our house on the market and try a hand at selling it. The average selling time in our neighborhood is over 100 days and since our house is on the main road, we figured it would take us longer to sell.  Hmmm, not the case. We have had two offers on the house and we are currently in negotiations to sign a contract. This is exciting! Once we enter into the contract Eric and I will need to put our house hunting into overdrive. Talk about being excited and scared at the same time. Guess Ally won’t be the only one camping out in the country with Eric’s parents.

Rylie is enjoying her cereal and has master the “spoon grab”. She is like a Venus fly trap which means mommy and daddy have to be quick on the draw. Needless to say that a bath is in order once feeding time is complete. There are so many times that I wish I could save these moments in a jar to revisit from time to time. Time flys. Though we are cherishing every moment, it is hard to let it go. Her yawns are so sweet, sighs are so sincere and her smiles are so innocent and pure.

Memorial weekend is quickly approaching and I am excited about the plans we made. Saturday is Maddie’s, Sara and Eric’s little princess,  first birthday so we will be traveling to Leander to celebrate with lots of cake and fun presents. Then it is over to Goldthwaite to visit my parents. I am eager to get Rylie on their mule. No not a real mule, the motorized vehicle, kind of like an over-sized golf cart. Now that she is more aware of her surrounding I am excited to see her reactions to the cows, birds, dogs and cats. This is going to be so much fun!

We wish everyone a safe Memorial Weekend!

My How Time Flies When You Are Having Fun!

Rylie and Mommy
What a wonderful 1st Mother’s Day!  It was also Eric’s birthday which made the day even more special. We celebrated with a trip out to the country and lots of wonderful food.
My First Taste of Cereal

My First Taste of Cereal May 14, 2009

Our little princess is 4 months old now and had her first taste of cereal. As you can see by the picture, I think it came as a surprise to her. Rylie is 14 pounds and 4 oz, 25 1/2 inches tall. She is healthy and an extremely happy baby, except for when she is tired.

We went to her cousin Taytum’s 1st birthday party this afternoon and had a blast. She was so interested in watching Taytum open up her gifts. I think it was due to all of the pretty colors on the wrapping and the toys making lots of noise. Rylie was pooped from all of the partying and came home and took a power nap.

A Little Bit About Us.

Our days of husband and wife began on April 23, 2005 but our commitment to each other began three years prior to our marriage. Our relationship is built on a solid friendship and for those who know our story will agree that it is quite unique. We are the best of friends and we hold our friends and family close to our heart.

Ally was our first “baby” and will be six years old this year. She is spoiled rotten and as far as she is concerned, rules any house that she is allowed in. She is a wonderful dog.

Rylie Madison Wagner was born on January 12, 2009, and what a blessing she is! She has brought so much joy into our hearts! Eric and I knew that hour lives would never be the same and when Rylie arrived, our world was turned upside down. We went from having complete control of our daily lives and being  independent to this little thing so dependent on us that you couldn’t make a single move or decision without taking in consideration how it would affect this helpless human being, who cried a lot by the way.

We have learned valuable lessons in patience, time management and most of all teamwork. I think many people forget that one of the core values of marriage is teamwork and communication. There is nothing like bringing a baby into this world to remind you of the importance of being there for each other. When you stand before God and say your vows in front of your friends and family you promise to be there through the good times and  bad. Well, a newborn baby will bring the best of the good and some pretty trying times, also known as sleep deprivation.

There is not a word that describes the amount of joy and love Rylie brings into our hearts!
